Chief Technology Officer (CTO)/Architect

The Chief Technology Officer/Web Architect, reporting to the CEO, will be responsible for a lead role in the design, building, and delivering a best in class platform that is simple beautiful design, high performance, high quality, and user-centric. Also, the incumbent will supervise all phases of the software development lifecycle including mapping new features to meet requirements, and use many new technologies throughout the development process.

Additionally, he/she is responsible for overseeing development of new technologies as well as driving the company’s overall technical directions, including mid-term and long-term technology strategy, technology policy and forward looking research and formulating intellectual property strategies.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • To design, maintain and support new web based features and enhancements for our domain name portfolio and GTW related products.
  • Design to performance requirements in an effort to ensure that all applications are highly scalable and can support high volumes of traffic.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure that code is compliant with design and coding standards.
  • Model system behaviors using best practice methods for communicating architecture and design.
  • Interpret business requirements and accurately reflect these requirements in the design.
  • Create and/or assist with the design of front-end web pages utilizing the latest ease of use features.
  • Recommend tools and utilities for design, development, testing and management of web-based applications.
  • Ensure designs are consistent with the existing architecture.
  • Present design solutions to the business and development teams.
  • Follow high level of standards across all levels of design work.
  • Contribute to the specification and transition to development of unit, system, integration, stress and user acceptance testing.
  • Show enthusiasm and a sense of ownership for the system and its components that are vital to the success of the business.
  • Develop new capabilities to enhance site and/or new web-based applications, including opportunities for mobile device apps.
  • Participate in design discussions for new features, applications and/or enhancements and assist in determining future product roadmap for online products.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of assignments.
  • Work closely with other areas of the company including business teams and other design/development teams.
  • Recommend and promote new technologies and best practices to enable us to better support our customers.
  • Researching and implementing new techniques to improve development and Web Sites.

 Requirements:

  • 5+ years proficiency in Java and Java-based architectures using J2EE on Linux including: Struts/Tiles (MVC framework), Java Persistence Architecture (JPA), Relational database experience such as MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle, LDAP or other identity management, Web services (SOAP).
  • 5+ years of practical work experience with web development with the following related technologies: JavaScript, CSS, DOM, DHTML, PHP, Mysql Administration & Unix Shell, Flash, Flex, Perl, Linux.
  • Strong J2EE/OO Design patterns experience.
  • 5+ years Java/2EE, JSP development experience.
  • 5+ years MVC Framework experience: Struts2, Spring MVC or similar.
  • Strong Web 2.0 experience essential, including use of OO JavaScript, AJAX, DHTML and JS libraries (eg JQuery/DOJO/ExtJs etc), HTML, CSS, strong understanding of browser compatibility issues.
  • XML, XSL, processing/parsing.
  • Candidate must have strong structured methodology experience.
  • Webservice design experience: SOAP Request/Response handling, authentication, Axis2.
  • Use of Unified Modeling Language (UML) to conceive a design.
  • Knowledge of web security standards and how to apply them.

Experience with the following is recommended:

  • Web 2.0 development with Javascript/AJAX, JSON and JQuery or Mootools.
  • Lucene search engine with Tika for content extraction and Solr for searching.

Software Engineer/Programmer

 The Software Engineer, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, will design and develop key features on the backend and frontend of the web site, using Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML and CSS, and several open-source technologies on the Linux platform.

This role involves developing cutting edge software on a high-energy team, tasked with writing efficient, accurate, clear code to specification. You will be utilizing programming standards and approaches to make certain efficient program logic and data manipulation.

The successful candidate will be a part of all phases of the software development lifecycle including mapping new features to meet requirements, and use many new technologies throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop, code, test, deploy, document, maintain and support new web based features and enhancements for our domain name portfolio and GTW related products.
  • Working directly with our Architect and CTO to contribute to the overall architecture and implementation or the core software platform and high performance engine.
  • Designing initiatives ranging from Internet development and multiplatform systems integration to network security and technical support.
  • Conduct software performance tuning, reliability and maintainability improvement tasks.
  • Support the design and development of new product offerings and the design and development of enhancements and extensions to existing systems.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, cross functional teams, risk assessments, and unit test inspections.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation or integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams facilitating decisions on new features and problem resolution.
  • The successful candidate will be committed to delivering quality work on an aggressive schedule, and must be able to demonstrate team work and ability to interact with other developers and testers.

 Requirements:

  • Strong software development skills, including design, development, testing, deployment and support.
  • 3+ years previous experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, Java Developer, J2EE Developer, or Mobile Web Developer with some or all of the following technologies: Java, J2EE JSP, JSF, Servlets, JDBC, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, Web Service Technologies including SOAP and WSDL, Spring (2.5), Hibernate and SQL.
  • Experience with application servers (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss), Web Services, WebSphere or WebLogic.

  • Previous experience creating core platforms, core products, high transaction software, highly scalable software, or social network software.

Chief Marketing Officer

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for bringing GTW mission and vision to the market.  As chief marketing officer, he/she will lead GTW’s product marketing, world-wide sales, brand, Licensing & Pricing, media relations, RFPs, market research and communications functions, including advertising and promotions.  This person should be passionate about developing marketing programs that may include digital campaigns, offline promotions, webinars, and events.  The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of marketing strategy and the online advertising space. The candidate will also have strong content development skills, experience working with sales leadership to understand market needs, and a track record of developing best-in-class materials and activations.  The candidate will need to combine strategic-thinking with a high degree of creativity to execute on high-impact, high-leverage, innovative materials and programs. He/She will be dedicated to ensuring that GTW products meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate the development of strong relationships with our customers and sponsors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field from an accredited college or university required. MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience; with a strong track record of execution.
  • Experience with online Advertising programs such as Google adSense, and search engines.
  • Knowledge of Google Adworks and PageRank are helpful.
  • Excellent marketing, communication, research skills, and project and team management skills are critical to success in this position, as is a demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Specific experience in developing collateral, direct B2B marketing tools, advertising, promotional programs, event design/management, and press and analyst relations.
  • The role requires excellent writing skills, a passion for teens education, the strong organizational skills to balance a varied workload.

Chief Editor

The Chief Editor is responsible for managing content creation, and ensuring the content our customers are browsing is accurate, relevant, current and engaging. He/She will partner closely with the Web designers, Web developers, Web Content Management teams, editorial team, photographers and account managers to ensure the site always reflects the company image of, our brand, values, and style. The position requires the incumbent to manage website’s blogs, polls, news, events calendar, social media, multimedia, e-newsletters, and

any special projects such as surveys or microsites; and to meet the needs of visitors who view websites on tablet computers or smartphones. Also, the incumbent will support marketing campaigns to ensure what our customers see and experience, is reflected on line. Additionally, the incumbent will team up with the Chief Marketing Officer in analyzing statistics to determine the

popularity of the site and how many visits it receives. He/She must keep abreast of competitor online activity, developments and market trends and make recommendations for the future development of the website. He/She will develop editorial policies, copyright, data protection and privacy regulations.

Initially, the incumbent may take on the role of webmaster and be responsible for dealing with enquiries e-mailed from the site and overseeing any message boards. Additionally, the chief editor will provide editorial oversight and work direction to the editorial staff and contractors as necessary. The position would include creative writing encompassing a variety of topics for the company’s website and blog as well as internal and external channels of communication: newsletters, marketing collateral, companywide announcements. The incumbent will review and edit articles by writers for clarity, completeness, consistency, accuracy, approach and proofread to ensure grammatical and typographical accuracy.

The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong storytelling experience and the ability to create thoughtful, compelling, and engaging content (video, graphics, text) for delivery on the Internet is required.
  • Develop engaging digital stories and communications that advance GTW's corporate image.
  • Provide editorial vision and tactical direction for how content is created and distributed across GTW's external Internet channels (Globalteensworld.com, social media, mobile).
  • Work on special assignments as needed that require video, animation, infographics, writing, editing and editorial oversight for external audiences.
  • Responds to information requests from the news media and general public on the organization's programs in written and oral form.
  • Help develop & document procedures to manage Web content.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or Education.
  • 3+ years of professional writing experience, including generating article ideas, writing, developmental editing, proofreading, and copyediting.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and communication skills, equipping them to conduct interviews, write feature/teen interest articles, write analysis/industry news pieces, write news briefs and blog posts, and generate other written copy as assigned.
  • Ability to develop compelling ideas, concepts, and campaigns, working collaboratively with creative leaders and fellow team members.
  • Must have the ability to adapt writing style (tone, level of detail, degree of context, etc.) effectively to a variety of audiences, situations, and media.
  • Experience writing for the Web and experience with social media is a plus.
  • Proven ability to strategize, manage and develop interactive content for the external-facing Internet that enhances a company's brand and reputation.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, XML, and CSS.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and expert word processing skills, familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, is a plus.

Graphic Designer 

We are looking for an experienced and talented Graphic Designer to support the vision and goals of GTW by developing new creative approaches and cutting-edge techniques to design and develop static and dynamic websites that are visually compelling and interactive.

The position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the creation of unique, professional, and cutting-edge designs for web, video, animation, and print that maintain the branding and image of the company.
  • Create and develop graphics and layouts for websites, page layout, online banner ads, animations, Web/e-mail page templates, image/photo editing, vector-based graphic, digital art and other media rich internet advertising.
  • Produce and edit compelling video content for online streaming (YouTube and Vimeo) and digital media (CD, DVD and BD).
  • Design, code and upload site content using a variety of web content management systems.
  • Work with Editorial and Creative Services teams to design new content pages & features, contests, surveys and other various projects.
  • Assist Marketing Director with the design and preparation of marketing materials, brochures, proposals, and other promotional materials for external business-to-business communications.
  • Proactively contribute to brainstorm sessions and continually seek new and creative ways to provide top quality product and services to our customers.

Requirements:

  • BA/BFA in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Web Design, Multimedia Communications or Visual Art.
  • Experience in designing for core web technologies with excellent knowledge of HTML, DHTMLFlash, PHP, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript and the entire Adobe Creative Suite - PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks required.
  • Minimum of 3 years web design/graphic experience in a corporate or agency setting.

Online Ad Sales Director

This position is responsible for developing sponsorship and online advertising strategies and plans, identifying and maintaining key client relationships, increasing the awareness of GTW products within the global corporate community, and earning corporate sponsorship and online advertising revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative advertising and sponsorship sales packages, including client presentations, sales decks, media plans and packages, creative guidelines and procedures.
  • Identify and initiate contact with senior corporate and advertising and marketing agency executives; generate and solicit leads, cultivate relationships and develop new accounts.
  • Perform thorough client needs analysis and provide effective solutions in accordance with goals and objectives of the advertiser.
  • Regular direct client visits/calls to build and maintain deep-level partnerships and review online campaigns.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly billings and contracted sales goals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with corporate sponsors and advertisers.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Online/Internet Marketing, or other internet marketing-related studies or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in advertising and sponsorship sales work with particular emphasis in digital/online media advertising sales.
  • ·Must have expert-level knowledge in the advertising and sponsorship sales field with proven, verifiable success stories selling into Fortune 500 companies as well as advertising and media buying agencies and marketing organizations.
  • ·It is crucial that the incumbent be able to think big and is able to serve as a champion of the GTW brand and products while persuasively selling the benefits of online advertising and overcoming any objections.

Staff Writer (2 positions)

We are seeking an experienced and creative content writer who is a sharp thinker, loves high quality work, and wants to see their work help drive customers to our brilliant website. The incumbent is responsible for writing and publishing Web content; maintaining and updating Web pages/blogs; monitoring and responding to user-contributed website content; and participating in social media efforts for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep up-to-date with best practices in writing for the web, social media trends, web usability, web design, and business/industry trends.                       
  • Quality content comes first and is the top priority of the editorial team.
  • Work with developers/IT staff to assess any technical challenges (technical troubleshooting) in displaying the content.
  • Help plan and implement social marketing campaigns for specific marketing goals.
  • Coordinate content creation & publishing of company newsletters (internal or external)
  • Prepare internal and external communications including announcements, press releases, quarterly corporate reports, presentations, technical documentation, sales support, etc as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or Mass Communication.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong ability to write in a variety of different styles and produce quality content efficiently.
  • Experience writing in a succinct, fact-filled and straight forward manner, and with excitement.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques and style to help drive web traffic.
  • Must know proper usage of keywords and appropriate embedding in any article.
  • Must be able to use strong catchy and attractive words in initiation.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and working with content management systems (CMS).
  • Must be able to analyze own created content by using metrics like Google Analytics to check out the tops hit pages, visitors path, bounce rates and duration of time on site.
  • Some web design experience to understand how web content is presented visually would be helpful.

 

Office Manager

Reporting to the President, the Office Manager’s primary function is to organize, develop and implement an office system that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the firm’s day-to-day administration and office managerial responsibilities.
  • Responsible for managing the client billing process (pre-bills, edits, final bills), Accounts Payable, payroll, and general ledger work.
  • Manage the human resources functions of the office including, personnel records, payroll processes, processing new hires and terminations.
  • Supervise part-time staff.
  • Maintain the Policy & Procedure Manuals.
  • Oversee office lease; maintain and update contract files; maintain vendor relations; and resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain inventory of operational materials, supplies, and all Petty Cash funds.
  • Ensure that all requested reports are performed correctly and submitted in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate new ideas, resolve problems, and obtain feedback.
  • Process all employment documents according to Company policy, state and federal guidelines.
  • Prepare monthly reports based on various requirements.
  • Answer phones and direct calls and/or take messages when needed.
  • Ordering on a monthly basis, all office supplies for the office.
  • Respond to client inquiries.
  • Maintain the office equipment and schedule repairs whenever necessary.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 – 3 years related experience.
  • The ideal candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures, collections and financial processes and be able to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Candidate should have a working knowledge of time and billing software and general computer software knowledge, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Must be knowledgeable with electronic billing.
